FAQs
What are your fees?
$165 per session. Sliding scale rates may apply depending on financial need and therapist availability. I am an in-network provider for some Aetna plans.
What should I expect during the first session?
I will send you a link to paperwork about your personal history and therapeutic goals before our first session through our therapy portal. We will talk about the assessment and about what you would like to be different if therapy is going “well.”
Feel free to take a cozy seat in the waiting room and I will come and get you at the time of our therapy appointment. I look forward to meeting you!
.
How long will therapy take?
Each therapy session is approximately 55 minutes long, give or take a few minutes. Sometimes clients prefer to have 90 minute sessions for EMDR; however, most sessions, including EMDR, will be 55 minutes. Many clients meet bi-weekly, though weekly or monthly sessions are available.
You are free to stop therapy at any time. Many clients begin to feel better after a few months of work but choose to continue for months or years in order to keep seeing progress or change. How long you continue is generally up to you.
What if I forget an appointment?
Mistakes happen. Our cancellation policy is that the first cancellation is a grace (free) cancellation. From then on, the cancellation policy is charged at $100 if cancellations are made with less than 48 hours before your next appointment. Some exceptions may apply, such as illness and emergencies. Work conflicts do not apply.
What if my insurance won’t cover fees?
I am an in-network with certain Aetna plans. If you have an Aetna plan, please call and contact the number on the back of your insurance card to see what your co-pay will be. If I am an out-of-network provider, please inquire about your out-of-network benefits. Sometimes insurance companies will offer a generous reimbursement (generally, a portion of the cost of sessions) with a superbill. If I qualify as an out of network provider, please let me know so that I can supply you a superbill to present to your insurance company.
Tapestry Counseling will refund one full session due to a confusion of insurance coverage but otherwise will charge the full rate for all other sessions. Please call your insurance prior to your first visit. I look forward to meeting you!
Sliding scale rates may also be available depending on need and therapist availability. Please inquire if there is a need.

What if I’m in crisis?
I am so sorry you are having a hard time. Though I am not available for immediate crises and only available during times agreed upon to meet for sessions, 988 is the National Suicide Hotline. Please call 911 if you are having a medical or life-threatening emergency. Past crises are frequently a subject of counseling, however, and will be gladly discussed during sessions.
